90th Anniversary Celebrations -2K18 A service of thanksgiving was held on the 25th of July 2018
to mark the 90th Anniversary of the founding of the Home by Sir James Peiris. Wheel chairs were also donated
to three residents on this occasion.
100th Birth Anniversary of Lord Cheshire The Sir James and Lady Peiris Cheshire Home celebrates
the 100 th Birth Anniversary of Lord Cheshire on 7th September 2017 in the presence of the UK High
Commissioner His Excellency Mr James Dauris, President Association of British Residents Ms Averil Nathanielsz,
Other invitees, Board members, Residents, Volunteers and Staff.
Christmas Party -2K16 Cheshire Home Christmas Party held on 6th December 2016. Chief Guest was
Ms. Laura Davies, Deputy High Commissioner of UK. We had a singing session with Ronnie Lietch.
International Day for Persons with Disabilities Today December 3rd is International Day for
Persons with Disabilities. We relaunched our Family Support Scheme today - three families with a disabled
child will be supported by the Cheshire Home to look after their children within the family environment.
Sir James and Lady Peiris Cheshire Home celebrated its 50th anniversary this year. Religious activities
were organised on the 19th of March 2016 while a Jubilee dinner was held on the 20th evening.
Prince Charles visit to CHOGM and B�day Celebrations on November 14,2013 Mr. Tilak Amendra ,
Chairman , Sir james & lady peiris cheshire Home Mount lavinia , together with resident Irene Jonathan were
among the distinguished invitees at the celebrations of the 65th birthday of his Royal highness , Prince
Charles , held at the Westminister house, colombo.
